DC needs to get it together, it's been almost a decade since Man of Steel came out and I can only remember a few movies that tie the series together. I seriously thought Shazam and somehow Suicide Squad was going to be tied in with the Justice League movies. What was the point of Joker with Joaquin Phoenix? What's the point of Batman with Robert Pattison? They gonna have their own spinoff? Just like the comics, IMO DC will always be second to Marvel even with movies. Marvel might have missed with X-Men, but how they tied Ironman, Captain America, Ant Man, Spider-Man, etc.. into Avengers was pretty damn good.

The thing is, this really isn't a bad film, you're just never going to top avengers because it had novellty, and with it, a special kind of charm. Even though this is not trying to be avengers, and something more gritty, Marvel just have a better formula for a category of film that by its very nature has an unavoidable goofiness. I am looking forward to this, but I don't think even Snyder can get it up to the level of a film that is truly great.
